Institutional Responses to Map Survey

In 1998, staff at the St. Louis Public Library surveyed Missouri libraries and historical societies to identify organizations that housed map collections and wished to make these collections available for wider public use. The survey was part of the Missouri Digital Map Project (MODMAP), funded by the Missouri State Library and the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Survey responses are divided by organization type: Public, Academic, and Historical Societies. Information includes the name of the contact person, current (as of 1998) mailing address, phone number, and email address. The final column reports the number of maps in the collection and the format of the holdings record. P means that the organization has some type of paper records.
