OUR TOWN

Our Town is a feature that will do several things. It will list upcoming genealogical events in the metro area. It will also contain the addresses, phone numbers, and website and e-mail addresses of area institutions with resources genealogists may find helpful.

Land Rich, Dirt Poor: Finding Your Ancestor in Land Records, sponsored by St. Louis Public Library, 1301 Olive Street, will take place on Saturday, March 8, 2003, from 10AM-12 Noon. This class is designed for beginning and intermediate genealogists and will illustrate how to use land records to find your ancestors. Call 314-539-0385 or 314-539-0381 to register for this free program. Pre-registration is required and seating is limited. Free parking is available.

Dead Men Do Tell Tales: The Use of Cemetery & Death Records in Genealogical Research, sponsored by St. Louis Public Library, 1301 Olive Street, will take place on Saturday, April 19, 2003, from 10 AM-12 Noon. This class will focus on finding and using records generated by death to assist in genealogical research. Call 314-539-0385 or 314-539-0381 to register for this free program. Pre-registration is required and seating is limited. Free parking is available.
