OUR TOWN

Celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Genealogical Collections at St. Louis Public Library! We’re having a birthday party! The date is October 19, 2002. Festivities begin at 1 p.m., with programs by an archivist from the National Archives on using the 1930 census and St. Louis’ own Ted Steele, an expert in using Federal censuses. The programs will be followed by an open house with refreshments, tours of the Genealogical Collections, and a chance to discover what we can offer. The events will take place at Central Library, 1301 Olive Street. This program is free and open to the public. Registration is strongly recommended. Free parking is available. Please call (314) 539-0385 to register or for more information.

On November 2, 2002, St. Louis Public Library will host a very special event, a program by Gary Boyd Roberts and David Dearborn, both of the New England Historic Genealogical Society. The program will be held at the Central-West Branch of St. Louis Public Library, 1415 Olive Street. Roberts will focus on notable or famous ancestors and Dearborn will present "Tracking Your Ancestor Across the Water." This program is free and open to the public. Registration is strongly recommended. Free parking is available. Please call (314) 539-0385 to register or for more information.
