Events of Interest

Civil War Medicine, sponsored by St. Louis Public Library, 1301 Olive Street, will take place on Saturday, August 3, 2002, from 10 AM-12 Noon in Meeting Room 1 in Central Library. It is intended to introduce genealogists and amateur historians to this subject area. Call 314-539-0381 to register for this free program: pre-registration is required and seating is limited.

Researching Your Missouri Civil War Ancestor, sponsored by St. Louis Public Library, 1301 Olive Street, will take place on Saturday, September 21, 2002, from 10 AM-1 PM in Meeting Room 1 in Central Library. It is intended to introduce beginning and intermediate-level genealogists to basic genealogical materials and research methods for this subject area. Call 314-539-0385 to register for this free program: pre-registration is required and seating is limited.

Genealogy Department Open House. On Saturday, September 7, the St. Louis Public Library will host an Open House and Welcome 1930 Census Party. This event will include tours of the History & Genealogy and Special Collections Departments and a class on using Federal censuses. Refreshments will be served.

A Presentation by David C. Dearborn and Gary Boyd Roberts, nationally known speakers from the New England Historic Genealogical Society, October 26, 2002 (time and place to be announced). The lecture will be free and open to the public.
