Mr. Barklage received the Scharr Medallion in 1998 as part of the St. Louis Public Library's Aviation History Month activities. The award honored him for his work reporting traffic throughout the region, his visits to area schools and community events, his several dramatic rescue operations, and his contributions to aviation. The award was accepted posthumously by Mr. Barklage's family. |
