McDonnell Douglas Corp (Now Boeing Company) and Williams Middle School received the Scharr Medallion in 1997 as part of the St. Louis Public Library's Aviation History Month activities. The group was honored for their joint efforts over the years in educating youngsters about aviation and the aerospace industry.
