|Resolutions adopted during the 2013 session by the St. Louis City

The St. Louis Fire Department
WHEREAS, the St. Louis Fire Department (STLFD) and SAK Construction coordinated a week long training session at STLFD Headquarters, June 10-14, reviewing the construction details for MSD South Area dig; and
WHEREAS, the week long 40 hour course involved all members of the STLFD across all shifts that are assigned either to the fire Districts located within the project or firefighters assigned to the highly specialized Collapse Rescue Task Force; and
WHEREAS, the SAK Construction Company provided detailed information on the unique project specifically as it pertained to all life safety requirements; and
WHEREAS, this education and training allowed the St. Louis Firefighters and members of the SAK Construction Company to familiarize their respective rescue teams with each others experience levels and operating capabilities; and
WHEREAS, in addition to the familiarization, the ability to establish a coordinated pre-incident response plan will provide for a greater level of safety for all involved with this project.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of St. Louis that we pause in our deliberations to recognize the St. Louis Fire Department and we further direct the Clerk of this Board to spread a copy of this Resolution across the minutes of these proceedings and to prepare a commemorative copy to the end that it may be presented to our honorees at a time and place deemed appropriate by the Sponsor.
