Pat Brown

WHEREAS, Pat Brown is retiring after 30 years of program services and leadership with Employment Connection and has served as a work readiness trainer, career specialist, unit leader and manager since 1983; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Brown's efforts have assisted individuals with socioeconomic barriers to seek self-sufficiency through employment and housing; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Brown has assisted employers to enhance the quality of their workforce by providing expert workforce development services; and

WHEREAS, during her service the agency developed new and innovative programs and the budget increased from $450,000 in 1983 to $3,000,000 today; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Brown was selected as Employee of the Year twice during her service and received the CEO Award for Excellence; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Brown planned and executed the in-service training program and CEO Day; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Brown assisted in the creation and publication of the agency newsletter, The Employment Advocate; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Brown created and implemented the Employment Connection Cheer Fund; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Brown was ever diligent in pursuing career development training to enhance her skill set and received offender training from the Department of Justice in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of St. Louis that we pause in our deliberations to congratulate Pat Brown for 30 years of service with Employment Connections and we wish her peace and happiness in her retirement and we direct the Clerk of this Board to spread a copy of this Resolution across the minutes of these proceedings and to further prepare a commemorative copy to the end that it may be presented to our honoree at a time and place deemed appropriate by the Sponsor.
