The National Baptist Convention Congress of Christian Education
WHEREAS, The National Baptist Convention was founded in 1886 and is the nation's oldest and largest African-American religious convention with an estimated membership of 7.5 million; and
WHEREAS, The National Baptist Convention is hosting its 108th Annual Session of the Congress of Christian Education entitled "Solidarity With the Savior" in St. Louis at the America's Convention Center June 17th - 21st 2013; and
WHEREAS, The Congress of Christian Education Session is the educational arm of the Convention and is responsible for teaching and training leaders in every aspect of Christian Education with the honorable Dr. Julius R. Scruggs as President; and
WHEREAS, The session will offer attendees a wealth of learning opportunities to encourage spiritual growth and to learn of the Congress' work and witness in the world for Christ; and
WHEREAS, The Congress of Christian Education Session will host 30,000 delegates with a selection of more than 300 classes equipped with Christian education leaders with the necessary information and teaching techniques to fulfill their respective roles in their local ministries with excellence; and
WHEREAS, The National Baptist Convention USA, Inc. is more relevant and impactful than at any time in history.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of St. Louis, that we pause in our deliberations to recognize and honor The National Baptist Convention's 108th Annual Session of the Congress of Christian Education and the Board of Aldermen for the City of St. Louis thank you for all your contributions and on your mission. Furthermore, we direct the Clerk of this Board to prepare a commemorative copy of this resolution to the end that it may be presented to our honorees at a time and place deemed appropriate by the sponsor.
