Carol J. Voss

WHEREAS, we have been apprised that Carol J. Voss will be receiving a Civic Leadership Award at the St. Louis Community Empowerment Foundation's 10th Annual Salute to Women in Leadership on May 16, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Carol Voss earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Fontbonne College in St. Louis in 1969, taught English at the high school level and now is a tireless campaigner for a litany of local causes; and

WHEREAS, currently, Ms. Voss is co-chairing the CHARACTERplus capital drive and SouthSide Early Childhood Center's effort to fund a 19,000-square-foot early childhood learning center in St. Louis City; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Voss is dedicated to other local causes including the Doorways Interfaith AIDS Housing Project, Dance St. Louis, the City of St. Louis NAACP, Grand Center, Mathews-Dickey Boys' and Girls' Club, and many more.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of St. Louis that we pause in our deliberations to recognize Carol J. Voss and we wish her continued success, achievement and accomplishment and we further direct the Clerk of this Board to spread a copy of this Resolution across the minutes of these proceedings and to prepare a commemorative copy to the end that it may be presented to our honorees at a time and place deemed appropriate by the Sponsor.
