Rev. Terri Swan

WHEREAS, we have been apprised that Rev. Terri Swan will be receiving a Award for Religious Leadership at the St. Louis Community Empowerment Foundation's 10th Annual Salute to Women in Leadership on May 16, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Swann earned her undergraduate degree in counseling in 1999 from Texas A&M University-Commerce and received the call to ministry while working in a youth and children's ministry; she then graduated cum laude from Southern Methodist University Perkins School of Theology; and

WHEREAS, in 2008, Rev. Swan was appointed as Associate Pastor at Salem, was ordained as a full elder in 2009, and just two years later was appointed Senior Pastor at Salem UMC; and

WHEREAS, Pastor Swan is an active supporter of humanitarian causes in the Saint Louis Community as a tutor in the St. Louis Public Schools and through her work at Kingdom House.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of St. Louis that we pause in our deliberations to recognize Rev. Terri Swan and we wish her continued success, achievement and accomplishment and we further direct the Clerk of this Board to spread a copy of this Resolution across the minutes of these proceedings and to prepare a commemorative copy to the end that it may be presented to our honorees at a time and place deemed appropriate by the Sponsor.
