Minga S. Furr

WHEREAS, we have been apprised that Minga S. Furr will be receiving a Community Leadership Award at the St. Louis Community Empowerment Foundation's 10th Annual Salute to Women in Leadership on May 16, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Minga Furr received a degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and enjoyed a successful corporate career in finance and accounting with FedEx, IT&T, and Turner Construction Company; and

WHEREAS, Minga Furr launched her own fashion design and manufacturing company and managed it for over 10 years; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Furr is currently Co-Founder of St. Louis CARES, a non-profit mentor recruitment organization and Furr Strategy Group LLC, a public affairs consulting company.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of St. Louis that we pause in our deliberations to recognize Minga S. Furr and we wish her continued success, achievement and accomplishment and we further direct the Clerk of this Board to spread a copy of this Resolution across the minutes of these proceedings and to prepare a commemorative copy to the end that it may be presented to our honorees at a time and place deemed appropriate by the Sponsor.
