Eagle Scout Henry Goldkamp
WHEREAS, we have been advised that on February 17, 2012 the rank of Eagle Scout will be awarded to Henry Goldkamp at Saint Gabriel the Archangel Parish; and
WHEREAS, those who are familiar with Scouting are aware that the rank of Eagle Scout is a goal sought by many but attained by few; requiring intelligence, perseverance, and a strong sense of service to your community; and
WHEREAS, Henry Goldkamp has been a member of the Boys Scout Troop 4 St. Gabriel the Archangel Paris since March 2006; and
WHEREAS, Henry has earned the ranks of Tender Foot, 2nd Class, 1st Class, Star and Life Scout; and
WHEREAS, Henry has earned 21 merit Badges including 12 Eagle required Merit Badges; and
WHEREAS, Henry had held numerous leadership positions in Troop 4; has completed an Eagle Scout Services Project and an Eagle Board of Review thereby earning the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America; and
WHEREAS, Henry will graduate from Christian Brothers College High School in Saint Louis in May 2013. He is a member of the National Honor Society and plays on the Varsity Volleyball Team; and
WHEREAS, he is also a member of Saint Gabriel Youth Group, and has attended the Youth Group service trip this past summer. He also serves regularly at soup kitchens in the Saint Louis area; and
WHEREAS, his Eagle Scout Project was clearing a path in the woods for a meditation trail at the LaSalle Retreat Center in Glencoe, Missouri.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of St. Louis, being apprised of the significant recognition to be bestowed on Henry Goldkamp at the Eagle Court of Honor, and wishing in some small way to add our congratulations and best wishes to Henry and his family, we pause in our deliberations to consider and adopt this resolution, and instruct the Clerk of this Board to spread a copy of this resolution over the permanent rolls of the Board and to further prepare a copy of this resolution so that it may be presented to our honoree as deemed appropriate by the resolution's sponsor.
