Pastor Ruth C. Booker

WHEREAS, Pastor Ruth C. Booker is celebrating her 50th birthday Saturday, January 19th; and

WHEREAS, Ruth C. Booker is the 13th child of proud parents Theodore Roosevelt and Lula Mae Lucas; and

WHEREAS, a St. Louis native, she graduated in 1982 from O'Fallon Technical and received her CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant) in 1984 which is a field she worked in for 10 years; and

WHEREAS, always striving to enhance her education, in 1998 Ruth received an Associate Degree in Human Services from Forest Park Community College; and

WHEREAS, in 1999 she received her Preacher's License under the dynamic leadership of Reverend Dr. Sammie E. Jones; and

WHEREAS, in 2005 she was ordained as Pastor of Christ Our Redeemer Christian Fellowship M. B. Church under Pastor Robert Dean in Charleston, Missouri; and

WHEREAS, Pastor Ruth Booker is now serving as an Associate Minister at the Leonard M.B. Church under the leadership of Bishop Steven G. Thompson; and

WHEREAS, Pastor Booker's favorite scripture is: Psalms 34:1 and her favorite saying is, "Remember only what you can do for Christ will last"; and

WHEREAS, she is married to Parrish D. Phillips Sr., mother of Shaun Christopher Booker Sr. & stepmother of stepson Parrish D Phillips Jr, grandmother of Shaun Christopher Booker Jr., and step grandmother of grandchildren Paul and Faith.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of St. Louis that we pause in our deliberations to wish Happy Birthday to Pastor Ruth C. Booker. We further direct the Clerk of this Board to spread a copy of this Resolution across the minutes of these proceedings and to prepare a commemorative copy to the end that it may be presented to our honoree at a time and place deemed appropriate by the Sponsor.
