Lois Daniel Ingrum "The Doll Project"

WHEREAS, Lois Daniel Ingrum is President /CEO of L. D. Ingrum Studio/Gallery, she has worked in media arts and conducted community arts programs since 1983; and

WHEREAS, Lois Daniel Ingrum is a graduate of the St. Louis Regional Arts Commission's CAT (Community Arts Training) Institute's TIGER program; and

WHEREAS, she has committed her talent, heart, creative soul to change lives through the power of photography and multi-media art; and

WHEREAS, she is a 2012 Visionary Artist award recipient, she offers her studio/gallery to community neighbors interested in art and photography as an informal training center for at-risk youth; and

WHEREAS, Lois Ingrum began her documentation of "The Doll Project" in 2008 with her students to create understanding and learning about the need of public displays for healing as a reaction to violent deaths; and

WHEREAS, "The Doll Project" is a traveling multi-media exhibit which pays artistic tribute to the memory of people who have died by violence; and

WHEREAS, "The Doll Project" seeks to develop understanding for open dialogue that gives value to all live, regardless of status; and

WHEREAS, "The Doll Project" will be on exhibit at the Missouri History Museum January 19, 2013 thru June 23, 2013.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of St. Louis that we pause in our deliberations to recognize and praise the tremendous contributions that Lois Daniel Ingrum has made to our community. We further direct the Clerk of this Board to spread a copy of this Resolution across the minutes of these proceedings and to prepare a commemorative copy to the end that it may be presented to our honoree at a time and place deemed appropriate by the Sponsor.
