Nicholas Alexander Pertzborn
Whereas, we have been apprised that the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest badge in the Boy Scouts of America, will be awarded to Nicholas Alexander Pertzborn; and
Whereas, Nicholas is the son of John and Mary Pertzborn who are both proud and pleased to announce this momentous accomplishment in Nicholas' life; and
Whereas, Nicholas was born on November 8, 1994 in St. Louis, Missouri. He attended Signal Hill Grade School in Belleville, Illinois. He is currently a senior at St. Louis University High School; and
Whereas, Nicholas has received First Honors and has been accepted at the University of Missouri-Columbia and St. Louis University; and
Whereas, Nicholas was a member of the St. Louis University High School Cross Country Team and a member of the St. Louis University's Rifle Team. He was a member of the St. Louis University High School Aces Student Diversity Club and the St. Louis University's Stage Crew. He also served as a Senior Advisor; and
Whereas, Nicholas attended the Concordia Foreign Language Immersion Schools for German and Spanish; and
Whereas, Nicholas is a volunteer on the St. Vincent De Paul Soup Bus in St. Louis and East St. Louis. He served as a volunteer at Belleville, Illinois' Willowcreek Nursing Facility and at the Poor Clare Cloister of Nuns. Nicholas was a Variety Kids Summer Counselor in St. Louis County; and
Whereas, is a nominee for the United States President's Volunteer Service Award; and
Whereas, Nicholas traveled to Paderborn, Germany in 2010 to participate in the Belleville, Illinois Sister City Cultural exchange and during his spring break in 2011 he went on a Mission Appalachia in Barren Springs, West Virginia.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of St. Louis that we pause in our deliberations to congratulate Nicholas Alexander Pertzborn on the occasion of his rank of Eagle Scout and we wish him continued success and achievement and we further direct the Clerk of this Board to spread a copy of this Resolution across the minutes of these proceedings and to prepare a commemorative copy to the end that it may be presented to our honoree at a time and place deemed appropriate by the Sponsor.
