|Resolutions adopted during the 2012 session by the St. Louis City Board of Aldermen

WHEREAS, SabaH newspaper was founded in 1997 by Sukrija Dzidzovic; and
WHEREAS, SabaH is the only Bosnian-Herzegovian weekly newspaper in the United States; and
WHEREAS, from its' first issue, SabaH strived to become and is the common voice of the Bosnian-American community; and
WHEREAS, SabaH is read by people of Bosnian descent as well as those of non Bosnian linage; and
WHEREAS, it is the mission of SabaH as reflected in the 56 pages of every issue to inform Bosnian-Americans about what is going on in the countries they left; and
WHEREAS, SahaH stands as a bridge connecting Bosnians here in the United States with the compatriots in the Bosnian lands in the Balkans; and
WHEREAS, SabaH cooperates with all the Bosnian-American social, cultural, political and religious organizations; and
WHEREAS, SabaH has its correspondents in all the states with significant Bosnian-American communities, as well as correspondents from Bosnia.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Aldermen of the City of St. Louis that we pause in our deliberations to recognize and praise the tremendous contributions that Sukrija Dzidzovic and his entire staff have made for distributing information about Bosnia and Bosnian American activities across the United States thru the SAbaH newspaper. We appreciate the contribution that Sukrija Dzidzovic has made by locating the main office of SabaH in the City of St. Louis. We further direct the Clerk of this Board to spread a copy of this Resolution across the minutes of these proceedings and to prepare a commemorative copy to the end that it may be presented to our honoree at a time and place deemed appropriate by the Sponsor.
