Bernice Jones

WHEREAS, we have been apprised that on Thursday, October 25, 2012, Bernice Jones will be recognized by the residents of the Twenty-Second Ward with the presentation of the Good Neighbor Award; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Jones has resided in this neighborhood at 5956 Romaine Pl. for more than 54 years and she is recognized and respected for her dedication to the preservation and stabilization of her neighborhood; and

WHEREAS, Dairy Queen was demolished in 1964 at the location of 1374 Hodiamont Ave leaving the lot as an eyesore due to litter. WHEREAS, she has had to use her own personal money to help finance the project because of inability to get other financial assistance; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Jones is an exceptional member of this community and we greatly appreciate her commitment to her neighborhood and to the entire City of St. Louis.
