Whereas, the St. Louis Mental Health Board was approved by the voters in 1992 to improve and expand services for city residents who needed mental health and substance abuse services; and

Whereas, the St. Louis Mental Health Board has distributed local, state and federal revenues to over fifty organizations. The Mental Health Board also provides support for agencies which serve children in order to improve children's readiness to enter and succeed in school, stay off drugs and graduate from high school; and

Whereas, Executive Director, Don Cuvo who has led the organization from the beginning emphasizes community connections and encourages support for both established and grass roots organizations; and

Whereas, the St. Louis Mental Health Board, and its dedicated volunteer Trustees, is one of St. Louis' most important and effective boards, which has always remained close to the people and the institutions which exist to support the positive development of children and families.

Now therefore be it resolved by the Board of Aldermen of the City of St. Louis, that we pause in our deliberations to recognize the many achievements of the St. Louis Mental Health Board and we further direct the Clerk of this Board to spread a copy of this Resolution across the minutes of these proceedings and to further prepare a commemorative copy to the end that it may be presented to our honoree at a time and place deemed appropriate by the Sponsor.
