An ordinance amending Section Two of Ordinance 62751, approved on November 17, 1992, providing that any interest earned on funds set aside for providing operating expenses for shelters for battered persons as defined in Sections 455.200 to 455.230 Revised Statutes of Missouri shall be retained in the special fund established by the Comptroller for such purpose and containing an emergency clause.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION ONE. Section Two of Ordinance 62751 is hereby amended to read as follows: Section Two. The said additional court cost shall be collected by October 9, 1992 by the clerk of the City Courts and disbursed bi-weekly to the Comptroller who shall establish a special fund to be used solely for providing operating expenses for shelters for battered persons as defined in Sections 455.200 to 455.230 Revised Statutes of Missouri. All interest earned by the funds deposited in such special fund shall be retained in the fund to be appropriated accordingly. Appropriations of money from said fund may only be made upon approval of the Board of Estimate and Apportionment and the Board of Aldermen, and the appropriated funds shall be administered by the Department of Human Services.
SECTION TWO. This being an ordinance for the preservation of public peace, health and safety, it is hereby declared to be an emergency measure within the meaning of Sections 19 and 20 of Article IV of the charter of the city of St. Louis and therefore this ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
