BOARD BILL NO. [98] 153

INTRODUCED BY ALDERMAN Michael McMillan

An ordinance changing the name of Channing Avenue over its entire length and containing an emergency clause.

WHEREAS, Ordinance 60018, approved August 18, 1986, amended by Ordinance 60797, approved April 11, 1988, established procedures for renaming of public streets in the City of St. Louis, and such procedures have been codified as Chapter 20.12 of the Revised Code of the City of St. Louis; and

WHEREAS, the Board of Aldermen finds that procedures and approvals required by said Chapter of the City Code have been followed and obtained with respect to such renaming of the said public street.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION ONE. The name of Channing Avenue from Cook Avenue to Bell Avenue and Delmar Boulevard to Locust Boulevard, representing itŐs entire length, is hereby changed to Josephine Baker Boulevard.

SECTION TWO. The Director of Streets is hereby directed to immediately change the signs designating the aforesaid street from Channing Avenue to Josephine Baker Boulevard.

SECTION THREE. Emergency Clause. This being an Ordinance deemed necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health and welfare, it is hereby declared to be an emergency measure and shall become effective immediately upon its passage and approval of the Mayor.
