12.20.010 Designated.

The institution located on the property situated at or near 5600 Arsenal Street acquired by the city by the ratification of the Scheme and Charter of the city and subsequently established and formerly known as the St. Louis Chronic Hospital, shall hereafter be known as, named and designated as the "Harry S. Truman Restorative Center."

Editor's Note:

Ordinance 56904 apparently intended to repeal Ordinance 56796, but the latter has been codified here because it was not specifically repealed.

12.20.020 Additional properties--St. Louis Nursing Home.

The institution located on the property situated at or near 5700 Arsenal Street, formerly known as the St. Louis Nursing Home, is to be considered a part of the "Harry S. Truman Restorative Center," the same as the institution formerly known as the St. Louis Chronic Hospital.

12.20.030 Additional properties--Isolation Hospital.

The building and premises known as the Isolation Hospital shall hereafter be known as the "Harry S. Truman Restorative Center," be operated in conjunction with and as a part of the "Harry S. Truman Restorative Center," and all ordinances relating to the "Harry S. Truman Restorative Center" shall apply to and include the premises formerly known as the Isolation Hospital.

12.20.040 Indigent patients.

The Harry S. Truman Restorative Center shall be maintained for the care of indigent and decrepit persons who are incapacitated for supporting themselves. It shall be the duty of the hospital commissioner to establish a system whereby persons admitted to Harry S. Truman Restorative Center shall earn the expense of their keep to the extent of their ability, such ability to be decided by the resident physician of Harry S. Truman Restorative Center.

205.330 Board to determine charity patients

12.20.050 Minors.

No minor under the age of seven shall be maintained at the Harry S. Truman Restorative Center. No minor between the ages of seven and seventeen in good health shall be maintained at the Harry S. Truman Restorative Center. The question of the health of any such person shall be determined by the hospital commissioner.

12.20.060 Admission rules.

All persons admitted to the Harry S. Truman Restorative Center shall have been residents of the city for at least one year prior to the date of application for admission, except when the patient cannot be transferred and the city must care for the patient. The hospital commissioner shall prescribe rules and regulations for the investigation and admission of all persons to the Harry S. Truman Restorative Center and no person shall be admitted without a written order from the hospital commissioner.

12.20.070 Records.

The superintendent of the Harry S. Truman Restorative Center shall maintain a record of all persons admitted to Harry S. Truman Restorative Center concerning their condition on admission, all medical and surgical treatment required and given, injuries sustained or diseases contracted, and the results of same; also condition on discharge and reasons thereof.
