Comfort Stations

11.52.010 Supervision, operation and maintenance.

Supervision, operation and maintenance of all public comfort stations which exist now or which may exist hereafter in the City outside of public parks shall be and are hereby vested in the Commissioner of Parks and Recreation, who shall make and enforce all necessary rules and regulations for the operation and use of such stations.

11.52.020 Towels, soap and private apartments.

The Commissioner of Parks and Recreation is hereby authorized to furnish and rent towels at not more than two cents each and to furnish and sell cakes of soap at not more than two cents each for use in such comfort stations, and to designate as pay toilets ten toilet apartments or less, in such stations at the courthouse and one more or less, in that at Union Market, for the use of each of which he shall charge five cents per person.

The Commissioner of Parks and Recreation shall pay to the City Treasurer weekly all money collected from rental of towels, use of pay toilets and sale of soap, and take therefor, duplicate receipts, one of which he shall file with the Comptroller.

11.52.030 Payment of costs.

All money required for salaries of janitors, for purchase of all supplies, coal and toweling and for repairs in connection with operation and maintenance of such stations shall be paid from annual appropriations to the Division of Parks and Recreation.
