5.50.010 Procedures and standards.

The procedures and standards set out in this chapter are to be followed and applied as a prerequisite for expenditures from the street improvement fund.

5.50.020 List of unimproved streets.

The director of streets shall at the beginning of each calendar year, prepare a list of unimproved streets, improved streets, geometric design improvement, alley, curb and sidewalk improvement during the resurfacing of improved streets proposed for improvement during that calendar year.

5.50.030 Selection of unimproved streets.

The projects designated for improvement shall be selected on the following basis: Proposed improvements shall be distributed as equally as possible geographically throughout the city so that the sum of the improvements proposed in any one geographic area of the city shall not be substantially greater proportionately than those in any other area, considering the total street mileage in any such area.

5.50.040 Cost estimates--Appropriation.

The director of streets shall prepare an ordinance with a proposed list of street improvements, including an estimate of the cost endorsed thereon, and providing for an appropriation of the monies from the street improvement fund.

5.50.050 Deposits.

The comptroller is hereby directed to deposit all money received from the additional sales taxes authorized by the adoption of proposition C at the November 2, 1982 elections into the street improvement fund and used for the improvement of streets as authorized by ordinance recommended by the board of public service and the board of estimate and apportionment.
