Commissions for City Real Estate Sales

5.20.010 Authorized.

The Comptroller is authorized to pay to any real estate broker licensed to do business in the City, a commission earned through the sale of any parcel of property offered for sale by the City in open listing.

5.20.020 When payable.

No sales commission under the provisions of Section 5.20.010 shall be due or deemed earned until the sale has been fully consummated, agreed price paid, and delivery of title made.

5.20.030 Computation.

All commissions under the provisions of Section 5.20.010 shall be computed upon the following basis: Sales, industrial, manufacturing or warehouse property, improved or unimproved, five percent (5%) on gross amount of sale. All other classes of property, five percent (5%) on gross amount of sale up to and including twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00). Where gross amount of sale price exceeds twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00), five percent (5%) on the first twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00), plus three percent (3%) on balance in excess of twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00). Where the gross amount of the sale price of any property is less than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00), a minimum commission of fifty dollars ($50.00) shall be paid.
