3.50.010 Municipal reference library--Designated.

The municipal reference library in the St. Louis Public Library located at 1301 Olive Street in the City of St. Louis is hereby designated an official depository library for all printed reports, documents, and publications issued by the various departments, boards, agencies and commissions of the City.

3.50.020 Municipal reference library--Depository of publications and reports.

Whenever any department, board, agency or commission of the City issues any printed report, document or publication, it shall be the duty of such department, board, agency or commission to cause at least one copy thereof to be promptly deposited in the municipal reference library.

3.50.025 Municipal reference library--Deposit of nonessential records.

Whenever the archival library has in its possession noncurrent records which have been recorded on microfilm, said original noncurrent records shall be offered to the municipal reference library before being otherwise disposed of as prescribed by Section 3.50.050 of this chapter.

3.50.030 Archival library--Establishment.

The Comptroller shall establish an archival library in the City as an official depository of all reports, correspondence, noncurrent records and documents, manuals and/or publications of all City departments, boards, agencies and/or commissions of the City.

3.50.040 Archival library--Deposit of documents.

Whenever any department, board, agency or commission of the City issues any document, report, manual or publication, one copy shall be deposited in the archival library for a period of thirty days to be microfilmed for the permanent record of the City. This shall be in addition to the copy deposited with other depositories of the City.

Whenever any department, board, agency or commission of the City no longer needs its records, documents, correspondence or reports for its current work, the records shall be forwarded to the archival library as custodian of records.

3.50.050 Archival library--Disposition of records.

Whenever the archival library has in its possession current records of the City it shall make a permanent microfilm copy of them and return them to the originator.

Whenever the archival library has in its possession noncurrent records of any department it shall record them on microfilm as prescribed by State Statutes, if they are original records. If the records are nonessential as determined by the City Counselor or have been filmed, they may be disposed as prescribed by law upon concurrence of the City Counselor.

3.50.060 St. Louis Public Library--Designated City information center.

In addition to the copy of any printed report, document or publication required to be deposited in the municipal reference library as prescribed in Section 3.50.020 of this chapter:

A. The City Register shall deposit and keep current one copy of the Revised Code of the City of St. Louis, 1980 and one copy of each issue of the City Journal in each branch of the St. Louis Public Library; and

B. Whenever any department, board, agency or commission of the City shall prepare and publish any brochure or other information for distribution to the general public, it shall be the duty of said department, board, agency or commission to deposit sufficient numbers of said brochures or other information in all branches of the St. Louis Public Library for distribution to the general public.
