PART IV. COMMITMENT OF DELINQUENT CHILDREN

3.36.180 Board of children's services may receive children upon commitment of juvenile court of St. Louis County.

In addition to the powers and authority vested in it by ordinance, the board of children's services shall have the power and authority to receive and take charge of any child, at its discretion, upon proper commitment to it by the juvenile court of St. Louis County.

3.36.185 Children not to be committed unless adjudged delinquent--Term of commitment.

No child shall be committed to the care of the board of children's services by the juvenile court of St. Louis County unless the child shall have been first declared and adjudged a delinquent child by the court. Commitment in such cases shall not be for a shorter term than eighteen months.

3.36.190 Resident requirements.

The board shall not receive or take charge of any child committed to its care by the juvenile court of St. Louis County, who has not been, or whose parents or guardians have not been residents in St. Louis County for at least one year prior to the commitment of the child to the care and custody of the board by the juvenile court of St. Louis County, except children who are at the time of commitment actual bona fide residents of the City.

3.36.195 Rules and regulations for care.

The board of children's services shall have power and authority to care for any child committed to its care and custody by the juvenile court of St. Louis County in the same way and according to the same rules and regulations by which it looks after the custody, care, education, health, occupations, pleasures and general welfare of children now placed in its care by the juvenile court of the City.

3.36.200 Payment for maintenance.

The county court of St. Louis County shall, for the maintenance of each child committed to the care of the board of children's services by the juvenile court of St. Louis County, pay to the treasurer of the City, the cost of maintaining the child, which shall be ascertained by the annual reports of the board, and pay in addition thereto a fixed percentage on the permanent investment which the City has in the institution to which the child is committed, to be ascertained in like manner as the cost of maintenance.
