3.32.010 Office of Director established.

There is established in the Department of Streets the office of the Director.

3.32.020 Sections established in office of Director.

There are established in the office of the Director in the Department of Streets the following sections: street inspection section and the harbor and wharf section.

3.32.030 Head of Street Division. 

The title of the Head of the Street Division shall be Street Commissioner.

3.32.040 Sections established in Street Division.

There are established in the Street Division in the Department of Streets the following sections: street maintenance section, bridge maintenance section and street cleaning section.

3.32.050 Street Commissioner.

The Director of Streets is authorized to appoint a Street Commissioner who shall be the head of the Street Division and whose duties shall be those prescribed by Charter Article XIII 13, and additional duties as may be prescribed by ordinance.

3.32.060 Bonds for certain employees.

The following employees shall give bond in the sum of five thousand dollars: the Accountant, the Superintendent of Asphalt Plants and Maintenance, the Superintendent of Street Repairs, the Supervisor of Bridges, the Chief Excavation Inspector, the Wharf Master, the Superintendent of Garbage, Refuse Collection and Disposal and Stable, the Superintendent of Street Cleaning and the Superintendent of Soft Paved Streets.

3.32.070 Director of Streets to furnish plats to City Counselor.

Whenever the Board of Aldermen shall provide by ordinance for establishing, opening, widening or altering any street, avenue, alley, wharf, market place or public square, or route for a sewer or water pipe, or for other public work, or to condemn private property for public use, and it is necessary to take private property for the same, the Director of Streets shall furnish the City Counselor with all necessary plats, showing the property affected by the proposed improvements, and the metes and bounds and the names of the owners thereof.

3.32.080 Director of Streets to notify owner of improper location of stopcock boxes.

Whenever it comes to the notice of the Director of Streets that any gas or water stopcock box is not located as required by ordinance or projects above the surface of any paved sidewalk, it shall be his duty to notify by mail the persons supplying gas, with respect to gas stopcock box, and the owner or agent of the property fronting thereon with respect to the water stopcock box, to have the box properly located, or set even with the surface, within ten days from the date of the notice. If the persons supplying gas and the owner or agent fail to comply with the notice within the time specified, they shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
