Distribution of Code

1.04.010 Code--Register to be custodian.

Upon receipt by the City, all copies of the Code shall be delivered to the City Register and be kept in the Register's office until distributed.

1.04.020 Code--Distribution.

A. The City Register shall upon recommendation and approval of the City Counselor distribute copies of the Code to the Mayor, the Comptroller, the President of the Board of Aldermen, the Aldermen, the City Counselor and various departments of the City as determined by the City Counselor and other agencies as determined by the City Counselor.

B. Supplements to such Code shall be distributed in the same manner as described in subsection A of this section.

1.04.030 Code--Sale.

The Code and all supplements shall be made available for purchase to agencies of the state, county and federal government and the general public by the publisher.

1.04.040 Ordinances--Printing, binding, distribution and sale.

A. It shall be the duty of the Register, as soon as practicable after the adjournment of each annual session of the Board of Aldermen, to have the original ordinances enacted at the regular and special sessions during the year bound in a substantial manner and properly labeled, and to make a written index of each ordinance, its number, and the date of its approval. The Register shall, from time to time, by his or her requisition, have copies of all ordinances printed through the supply division and shall keep them in his or her office for distribution. At the expiration of each annual session of the Board of Aldermen, the Register shall have bound not to exceed four hundred copies of all the ordinances enacted at the regular and special sessions thereof, for the use of the members of the municipal government, using for the purpose copies of the ordinances he or she shall have provided in his or her requisition for the printing of ordinances for distribution.

B. The Register shall distribute bound copies of the ordinances enacted by an annual session of the Board of Aldermen, in the same manner as described in Section 1.04.020(A).

C. The charges to be made to purchasers of copies of ordinances and bound copies of ordinances enacted at annual sessions of the Board of Aldermen, shall be established and a schedule of charges fixed by the Comptroller and the Mayor.

Editor's Note: Ordinance 58275, repealing 1960 Code 5.010 through 5.050 and setting out code distribution provisions, became effective on the date the ordinance adopting the Revised Code of the City of St Louis, 1980, was approved.
